You’ll be joining Brighton & Hove City Council’s Housing Repairs Programme Team working with the Housing Repairs service, which is responsible for maintaining and improving homes for residents across the city. This role plays a key part in ensuring our contractor arrangements, policies, and quality assurance processes deliver efficient, high-quality, and resident-focused services. As Project Manager, you will drive continuous improvement in delivery of procurement projects and service delivery, helping to raise standards and achieve better outcomes for our residents.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team to drive service improvement, whilst ensuring regulatory compliance. As Project Manager, you will play a key role in shaping how our repairs service is delivered—ensuring our contractor arrangements, policies, and quality assurance processes provide safe, high-quality, and value-for-money services for our residents.
Tasks
In this role, you will lead on the procurement and mobilisation of contractor contracts, ensuring they are robust, compliant, and deliver excellent outcomes for residents. You will develop and review policies and procedures that bring consistency, clarity, and continuous improvement to our service.
Your day-to-day work will include working with internal teams to monitor quality and address issues. You will support service areas with quality assurance frameworks, using data and insight to identify trends, reduce risk, and improve customer experience.
You will also collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders—frontline teams, senior leaders, and external partners—helping to embed new ways of working and ensure that services are responsive to the diverse needs of Brighton & Hove’s residents.
Skills
You will bring significant experience in project management, including the successful delivery of procurement and service improvements, ideally within a housing or public sector environment. You will have a strong track record of planning, coordinating, and delivering projects that achieve value for money, while maintaining high-quality service outcomes and delivered on time.
You will be skilled in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and project governance frameworks, ensuring that strategic objectives are translated into clear, practical processes and deliverables. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities will enable you to identify risks, manage dependencies, monitor performance, and use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and support effective decision-making.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills are essential. You will be confident leading cross-functional teams, managing competing priorities, and influencing stakeholders at all levels to deliver project objectives and embed sustainable change within a complex organisational environment.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Team and service working arrangements are designed to support both employee work life balance and team collaboration. These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
