Full job description

Job Title: Customer Service Officer
Type: Temporary Contract
Location: Bristol
Salary: £30,015 per annum equivalent
Hours: Full Time (4 days office, 1 day working from home)

BRC are working closely with a leading housing organisation to recruit a Customer Service Officer on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced customer service professional to join a busy housing team as the first point of contact for residents. You will deliver a high-quality, end-to-end customer service, handling a wide range of housing-related enquiries and working closely with internal teams to ensure customers receive timely and effective resolutions. The role follows a hybrid working pattern of four days in the office and one day working from home.

Duties:

Act as the first point of contact for customers via telephone, email, social media, web enquiries and face-to-face.
Deliver a one-stop customer service, resolving enquiries wherever possible.
Handle a variety of housing-related enquiries, including repairs, tenancy, rent and estate management.
Raise and diagnose repair requests, ensuring the correct priority and instructions are issued.
Liaise with contractors and internal teams to resolve customer queries efficiently.
Handle challenging and sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
Escalate safeguarding concerns where appropriate.
Maintain accurate customer records and update internal systems.
Work towards individual and team performance targets while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a customer service or contact centre environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong administration and IT skills.
Experience using CRM systems, with Salesforce experience highly desirable.
Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.
Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information.
Social housing experience is desirable but not essential.
