Full job description

Ruby & White Butchers are looking for a reliable & thorough Dispatch Operative to join our hard working wholesale butchery team.

We supply a large number of pubs, restaurants, hotels and caterers in Bristol and the surrounding area. Our product range is extensive and we pride ourselves on quality, consistency and our ability to prepare customer orders to their exact requirements and specifications. We are a young and rapidly expanding shop and wholesale butchery driven by fresh ideas and an innovative approach to succeeding in today’s competitive and evolving food service industry.

For this role, you will be supporting our Butchers in the cutting room by being responsible for the daily booking out of all orders before leaving the unit for delivery. This is a very important role which requires a focused and methodical approach whilst working in a busy environment. You will be in charge of using correct batch numbers and having a wide knowledge of customer specifications.

You may also be required to offer support during production with picking, packing or labelling orders.

Some experience working in a commercial warehouse environment will be advantageous.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

Be hard working, punctual, honest and reliable
Be able to work under pressure, as it is a fast paced environment, while still following important safety procedures
Have a good eye for detail
Be a strong team player

This is a full time position, working approximately 40-45 hours per week. Due to the nature of the business early starts are required – your working day will start at 4am. Your days off will be Sunday and one other day which may change depending on the rota and staffing requirements.
