Details

This is not a traditional SEO role. It’s a commercially focused role for someone who wants real influence over how businesses grow online.

At Jarilo Design, SEO goes far beyond rankings and traffic charts. We work closely with a growing portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted partner in their online growth, analysing not just search performance, but how customers experience, trust, and ultimately buy from their website.

You’ll combine technical SEO expertise with commercial thinking, providing clear feedback, ideas, and opinions on how businesses can improve conversions, messaging, and overall online presence.

Think of this role as a blend of:

SEO Specialist
Digital Performance Analyst
Online Business Consultant

You will be trusted to form opinions, challenge clients constructively, and explain why something isn’t working, even when that means going beyond SEO. This role suits someone confident enough to say “this is costing you sales” and back it up.

Key Responsibilities

SEO & Performance

Develop and execute SEO strategies focused on traffic quality, intent, and revenue, not just rankings.
Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis with a commercial lens.
Perform technical SEO audits and work with developers to implement improvements.
Monitor performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SE Ranking, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and similar.
Manage link-building and authority growth with our external backlink partners.

Client & Commercial Insight

Manage a focused portfolio of high-value retained clients, acting as a trusted digital advisor.
Provide clear, confident feedback on websites, messaging, UX, trust signals, pricing clarity, and customer journey.
Help clients understand why customers may hesitate or drop off and how to fix it.
Contribute ideas that go beyond SEO, including CRO, content direction, and overall digital strategy.

Secret Shopper & Business Analysis

Carry out Secret Shopper style audits, reviewing competitors, customer journeys, checkout processes, communication, and trust factors.
Identify commercial weaknesses and opportunities across the client’s online presence.
Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations, not generic reports.

Reporting & Communication

Deliver clear monthly updates focused on outcomes and insight, not vanity metrics.
Confidently explain performance, opportunities, and next steps to clients.
Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and internal teams to ensure recommendations are implemented correctly.
Highlight commercial risks and missed opportunities, not just performance wins.

Requirements

Strong experience across on-page, off-page, and technical SEO.
Comfortable working in tools such as Ahrefs, SE Ranking, SEMrush, Moz, Google Analytics, Search Console.
Experience with WordPress and/or Shopify websites.
Commercial mindset. You naturally think about customers, trust, and conversions, not just traffic.
Confident communicator who can form opinions and explain them clearly to clients.
Analytical, curious, and comfortable challenging “this is how we’ve always done it”.
Organised and comfortable managing multiple clients without losing depth or quality.

What Will Make You Stand Out

Experience analysing why websites don’t convert, not just why they don’t rank.
Understanding of ecommerce buying behaviour and customer psychology.
Ability to spot issues in UX, messaging, pricing clarity, or trust signals.
Enjoys being involved in the wider business conversation, not hiding behind reports.
You care just as much about why a customer buys than where they came from.
