Full job description

Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Swindon

Salary: Starting from £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus performance-related bonuses

Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week | Generally Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Flexibility required as the service operates 24/7, 365 days per year.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Service: Children's Residential Home

Qualifications Required: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards the qualification

Experience Required: Minimum three years working with children within the last five years, including at least one year in a senior position within children's residential care

The Home:

Our client is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children's residential home in Swindon. This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for children and young people through high-quality, child-centred care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the home, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, and driving positive outcomes for children. The role offers autonomy, professional growth, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people's lives.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, and experienced leader who has successfully managed an Ofsted-rated Good or Outstanding children's home.

The successful candidate will:

Be passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people

Have experience leading and developing residential childcare teams

Be confident managing Ofsted inspections and regulatory compliance

Have strong safeguarding knowledge and experience

Be capable of managing budgets, staffing structures, and service development

Build effective relationships with local authorities, commissioners, families, and partner agencies

Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Be committed to continuous improvement and achieving at least a Good Ofsted rating
