Area Sales Manager

£40,000–£45,000 basic + uncapped commission | OTE £45,000–£50,000+ | Mileage & travel expenses paid

About Vodaland

Vodaland are Clean World Designers, specialising in stormwater management and landscaping solutions.

We manufacture our own product range at our plants in Europe and supply the UK market through our regional office and depot in Manchester. Our customers range from individual homeowners and trade professionals to contractors, large construction projects, builders’ merchants and distributors nationwide.

Our Manchester office is the first Vodaland branch in the UK and is also our fastest-growing. We’re at an exciting stage of our UK expansion, and this role offers the opportunity to join the business at an early stage and play a meaningful part in building the company.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who wants to grow with the company, take ownership and make a measurable impact. You will work directly with the Company Director.

The Role

We’re actively expanding our presence in the UK builders’ merchant and distributor market and are looking for a driven Area Sales Manager to lead that growth.

You’ll have the opportunity to build and develop the territory yourself — identifying opportunities, opening new merchant and distributor accounts, developing relationships and helping shape our approach to the channel as the UK business grows.

Your main focus will be winning new builders’ merchant and distributor accounts, while also growing and maintaining existing relationships.

You’ll be expected to spend around three days a week on the road, meeting customers, developing new opportunities and strengthening existing relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

New business:

Prospecting and visiting builders’ merchant and distributor branches to identify opportunities and open new accounts
Developing your own pipeline of prospective customers and new business opportunities
Drafting and presenting commercial proposals, including pricing, terms and product ranges
Negotiating opening orders with key decision makers
Building relationships with branch managers, buyers and other key stakeholders
Identifying new opportunities for Vodaland products within the UK market

Account growth and support:

Maintaining and growing relationships with merchant accounts
Answering day-to-day merchant queries on pricing, product specification, availability, and orders
Training merchant staff and presenting Vodaland product ranges, both in person and remotely
Promoting Vodaland's stormwater and landscaping product range, including new product launches

General:

Managing your own sales activity, diary and customer visits
Reporting on visit activity, pipeline development and account performance
Working closely with internal sales, technical specialists, fulfilment and the Company Director

Job Requirements

Strong sales, negotiation and relationship-building skills
Experience in B2B field sales, preferably within building supplies, construction, drainage, landscaping or a related industry
A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently
Valid driving license and own vehicle (company car is not provided but all travel expenses and mileage are paid)
A university degree

What we offer

- Basic salary: £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience

- Uncapped commission structure OTE £45,000 - £50,000+

- Travel & Expenses paid (HMRC mileage rate plus other travel expenses)
