Full job description

Location: Burnley & Surrounding Areas
Pay: Competitive hourly rates + holiday pay
Hours: Flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, full days, waking nights & sleep-in shifts

Rotherwood Cares are currently recruiting experienced Support Workers to join our temporary workforce, providing flexible ongoing opportunities across Burnley and the surrounding areas.

We work with a variety of services supporting both adults and children, including:

Mental health services
Domestic abuse support
Recovery and rehabilitation services
Respite care
Supported accommodation
Children’s residential services
Services supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours

You will be supporting individuals with a range of needs, which may include EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties), trauma, self-harm, complex behaviours, mental health needs, and additional support requirements.

The Role:

As a Temporary Support Worker, you will provide high-quality person-centred support, helping individuals to maintain independence, develop life skills, and access the support they need. Duties may include:

Providing emotional and practical support
Supporting individuals with daily living tasks
Promoting independence and wellbeing
Building positive professional relationships
Supporting with challenging situations using appropriate strategies
Completing daily records and following care/support plans

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

✅ Previous experience working within a care, support, residential, mental health, or similar setting
✅ A minimum of 6 months relevant experience (applications without the required level of experience may not be progressed)
✅ A good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support
✅ The ability to work confidently with individuals who may display challenging behaviours or have complex needs

Desirable (but not essential):

A current Adult and Child DBS registered on the Update Service
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
