Job Summary

The Assheton Arms is seeking a friendly and professional Bartender/Waitress to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service in a lively pub environment, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving drinks and food, taking orders, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Previous hospitality experience is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry while working in a dynamic setting.

Duties

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers in accordance with company standards
Take food and drink orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring prompt service
Serve food to guests at their tables or at the bar, maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using the POS system
Maintain cleanliness of the bar and dining areas, including clearing tables and sanitising surfaces
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and responsible alcohol service policies
Engage with guests in a friendly manner, providing recommendations and answering queries about menu items
Assist in setting up and closing down the bar area at the beginning and end of shifts

Skills

Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer service excellence
Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service
Ability to serve efficiently under pressure during busy periods
Good organisational skills with effective time management to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Previous experience in a restaurant or pub environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated and independent when required

Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
