Platned is a rapidly expanding enterprise services company with a global presence, headquartered in the UK. Historically recognised as business transformation experts specialising in the IFS product suite, we are now entering an exciting new growth phase by launching a dedicated Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central practice. We provide comprehensive solutions and IT consultancy to help mid-market clients maximize their technology investments and achieve strategic outcomes.

To lead this expansion, we are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive market footprint and revenue growth for our new Business Central practice in the UK.

Role Overview

As a BDM leading our Microsoft Business Central initiative, you will sit at the forefront of Platned’s newest growth vector. You will be responsible for new logo acquisition, building a healthy sales pipeline, and converting qualified mid-market opportunities into long-term strategic clients.

Unlike traditional BDM roles that strictly focus on legacy Business Central ecosystems, we specifically value commercial background across competing mid-market ERP solutions—such as Sage, SAP Business One, Acumatica, or Epicor. If you have a proven track record of selling complex mid-market ERP software and understand operational business processes, this role offers a rare opportunity to help shape a fresh practice from the ground up within an established global enterprise services firm.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and cultivate new mid-market ERP business opportunities across the UK.
Build and manage a robust pipeline of direct client accounts and strategic channel partners.
Lead discovery sessions to understand complex client needs across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain, translating them into business-outcome-focused solution proposals.
Collaborate with marketing, pre-sales, and technical consultants to deliver tailored solution positioning and product presentations to C-suite and key business stakeholders.
Drive the end-to-end sales lifecycle, from initial outreach and qualification through to negotiation and deal execution.
Help shape our go-to-market strategy, offering development, and ecosystem presence for the Microsoft Business Central practice.

Experience, Skills, and Requirements

3+ years of successful business development experience in mid-market B2B ERP enterprise software or IT consultancy services.
Direct experience selling mid-market ERP solutions (such as Sage, SAP Business One, Acumatica, Epicor, or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central).
Proven track record of independently generating, qualifying, and closing new logo deals within a consultatively driven sales cycle.
Strong discovery and consultative selling skills, with the ability to turn technical product capabilities into clear business value narratives.
Ability to comfortably engage and build credibility across all business levels, including Finance Directors, Operations Leads, and C-level executives.
Experience working alongside delivery, pre-sales, and implementation teams within a systems integrator or IT consultancy environment.
