Full job description

Full-time | Office-based | Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm
Salary: Dependent on experience
Preferred background: Previous experience in a law firm or conveyancing environment

Davis Gregory is expanding, and we are looking for a committed and proactive Conveyancing Legal Assistant to join our Residential Conveyancing team.

You will support clients through one of the biggest moments in their lives while gaining hands-on experience across property transactions. The role will primarily focus on residential conveyancing, with the opportunity to assist with some commercial property matters alongside your main responsibilities.

A background in a law firm or previous conveyancing experience would be preferred, although we would still welcome applications from candidates with strong transferable skills and the right attitude.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting fee earners with sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
Preparing correspondence using digital dictation and word processing.
Opening, maintaining and updating files and case management records.
Responding to client enquiries and providing progress updates.
Chasing outstanding information and documents.
Helping to prepare matters for exchange and completion.
Assisting with SDLT and Land Registry administration.
Providing administrative support on commercial property transactions when required.

Computer literate and confident using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities.
A clear and professional communicator.
Calm, approachable and empathetic with clients.
Reliable, proactive and respectful of client confidentiality.
Genuinely interested in developing your conveyancing knowledge.
