Duties

Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
Assess each dog’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to tailor grooming techniques accordingly
Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area by disinfecting tools and workstations regularly
Handle dogs with care and patience, ensuring a safe and stress-free grooming experience for every pet
Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming requests and provide expert advice on pet care and maintenance
Manage heavy lifting of grooming equipment, supplies, and occasionally assisting with larger or heavier dogs
Keep detailed records of each groomed pet’s services, preferences, and any health concerns observed during grooming

Qualifications

Prior experience in dog grooming is essential
Strong animal care skills with a gentle touch and patience for working with dogs of all temperaments
Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and communicate clearly about grooming procedures
Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling large or heavy dogs or equipment safely and efficiently
Knowledge of grooming tools, techniques, and safety protocols
Passionate about providing exceptional care and creating positive experiences for pets and their families
