Location : Edinburgh, Hybrid.

In this position, you’ll be based in the Edinburgh office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. Find out more about our flexible work culture at computershare.com/flex .

As our Solution Architecture, you will be responsible for solution design and architecture delivery. You will provide architectural direction to teams and driving the implementation of architectural strategy. Working within the Issuer Services Architecture team, this role partners closely with product stakeholders, fellow solution architects, development teams, software suppliers, infrastructure providers, enterprise architects, and subject matter experts to shape technology outcomes across the business.

A role you will love

Your role as a Solution Architect will be to elaborate design options, champion innovation, drive technical strategy, and ensure that solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements, all while adhering to Computershare's architectural principles, security policies, and regulatory standards.

The role takes an active part in evolving the Architecture framework, governance processes, and reference patterns increasing the value the team delivers by reducing cost and complexity, managing technical risk, and enhancing change flexibility across the technology estate.

Working closely with the Issuer Services Architecture community, the Solution Architect contributes to defining and implementing technical strategies that drive consistency and excellence.

Other key responsibilities:

Collaborate with development functions, business lines, product teams, and CTO stakeholders to define the technology future state and supporting roadmaps.
Manage stakeholder expectations and perceptions, acting as a trusted advisor on architectural decisions and trade-offs.
Monitor technology trends and evaluate the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to drive competitive advantage.
Champion reuse of common components, patterns, and share platforms to reduce cost, complexity, and time to market.
Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including performance, availability, disaster recovery, and observability.
Actively contribute to the ownership and evolution of governance, assurance frameworks, standards, and policies with a focus on improving design quality and consistency.
Contribute to the Computershare Design Community, providing guidance, facilitating collaboration, and ensuring clear communication across the organisation.
Define high-level transition plans to address gaps between current and future state, aligned to IT budgeting and planning processes.
Lead analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies, technical debt, and end-of-life risk; recommending solutions for improvement.
Oversee and support the research, evaluation, and selection of new software technologies, platforms, and architecture standards

What will you bring to the role?

You will bring a blend of strategic thinking, technical depth, and stakeholder influence—driving architectural excellence, shaping our technology future, and elevating engineering capability across the organisation.

Some other key skills that you’ll have:

Experience within a complex enterprise context and with architectures spanning multiple technologies.
Expert experience of design and implementation of a diverse range of business applications across multiple channels.
Proven track record of architecting scalable, modern cloud platforms leveraging RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed web services to drive business agility and resilience.
Collaborates and communicates well, builds effective working relationships, influences others, challenges appropriately and responds well to challenge from others, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
Experience of design and implementation of Cloud-based applications and services.
Will have strong technology and architecture skills and will operate in an environment of highly technical people and teams.
Will have specialist knowledge and will collaborate with architects, developers and specialists across Computershare to contribute to the delivery of projects and programmes.
Exceptional problem solving and communications skills are a must.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
