Organisation Overview

Adelaide House, the key project of LDCSA, is a Female Independent Approved Premises (IAP) under contract to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). It provides high quality residential support, intense supervision and risk-based interventions for up to 18 adult women who present a high, or very high, risk of serious harm. Its work and management is overseen by the Liverpool Diocesan Council for Social Aid (LDCSA), a Christian charity established in 1823 to promote awareness of women’s issues, penal affairs, and domestic abuse in Liverpool Diocese & Greater Merseyside. Our vision is to see potential realised and hope restored for lives impacted by the criminal justice system. The LDCSA Board of Trustees provides strategic direction to the work of Adelaide House.

This is an exciting time for the Charity as following a realignment of management roles we are seeking a dedicated and creative professional to fulfil our new role of Programmes Manager.

As Programmes Manager you will be responsible for enhancing our capacity to develop and deliver the programme of rehabilitative opportunities. As such, you will fulfil a vital role in the further development of Adelaide House as a high-quality provider of women’s residentially-based services. Using your knowledge and understanding of the factors underlying women’s offending, you will review, develop and evaluate the programme of rehabilitative interventions to ensure compliance with the MoJ Contract and its ongoing effectiveness in addressing the criminogenic needs of the female residents.

You will lead a team of Interventions Workers and will gather and evaluate evidence towards maintaining the ‘Enabling Environments’ award as recognised by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

You will also develop links with the Social Work departments of Liverpool’s universities to facilitate student training opportunities at Adelaide House, providing monitoring and support of students as appropriate.

You will have substantial experience, with a proven record of good practice in a variety of settings (including offender risk assessment and management) as a Probation Practitioner or from working within another criminal justice agency, as well as several years’ experience of team management.

You will be an experienced, flexible, and collaborative manager who will thrive on developing and delivering a quality rehabilitation offer to our residents and enabling others to do the same.
