CARE TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY (CIC)

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SVQ ASSESSOR

POST TITLE: Fully Qualified SVQ Assessor Social Services Healthcare /CYP awards

LOCATION: Home based/office at Browne House , The Crichton, Dumfries, various training/assessing locations

SALARY: Dependent on qualifications and experience

RESPONSIBLE TO: General Manager

HOURS: Flexible and negotiable depending on business requirements

Assessor Duties:

Guide, advise and support the SVQ Candidate at all stages of their award.
Undertake the Candidates induction.
Work closely with the Candidate to identify opportunities for gathering evidence of competence and building their SVQ portfolio.
Agree assessment plans with the Candidate.
Assess the evidence against the relevant standards.
Make judgements about the Candidates competence.
Keep assessment records in line with the organsiation and SQA requirements.
Provide constructive feedback to the Candidate on their work.
Liaise with the Candidate and the candidate’s manager to arrange workplace observation visits.
Attend regular SVQ Standardisation Meetings.
Take guidance and support from the SVQ Co ordinator and produce end of month Candidate progress reports as requested.
Comply with Internal Quality assurance processes and Internal verification.
Comply with the requirements for SQA Systems and Qualification Verification Visits.

General Duties:

Complete all relevant documentation and submit on time as required to either the Training/SVQ/IT and Support Services Co-ordinator
Take part in review and development of materials and procedures including standardisation of assessment and training materials
To keep up to date with current issues in Care and Management and to maintain Continuous Professional Development records.
Undertake any such other duties that may be determined from time to time by the Management and coming reasonably within the framework of the post
Attending meetings as required and advised by the SVQ Centre co ordinator and/or the General Manager

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
