Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Chef/KP to join our culinary team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in food preparation, kitchen operations, and team management within a professional hospitality environment. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in food safety, cooking, and supervising tasks, with the potential for career progression into more senior culinary roles. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to learn the art of professional food service.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
Support the kitchen team with basic food production tasks to ensure smooth service delivery
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations diligently to uphold health standards
Supervise junior staff and trainees where applicable, fostering a collaborative team environment
Contribute to the efficient running of the kitchen during busy service periods
Assist with serving food and beverages as required during service hours
Support inventory management by helping with stock checks and storage procedures

Skills

Previous experience or familiarity with kitchen environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Strong interest in culinary arts, food production, and hospitality industry practices
Good organisational skills with an ability to work efficiently under pressure
Basic knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Leadership qualities with potential supervisory experience or aspirations to develop such skills
Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication and cooperation
Enthusiastic attitude towards learning new techniques in food preparation and cooking
Experience in restaurant service or serving roles is beneficial but not mandatory
