ABOUT US
The Prohibition Collection is an independent cocktail brand creating premium bottled cocktails, mocktails and bespoke drinks for customers and businesses across the UK.
From book subscription boxes and independent bookshops to exhibitions, retailers and direct-to-consumer gifting, we create products designed to be remembered.
We are a small team with ambitious plans, and we are looking for someone creative, commercially aware and genuinely interested in helping us grow online.
This is not a traditional corporate marketing role. Good ideas will be heard, tested and given room to develop.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Content Creator & Social Media Assistant who understands social media, branding and what makes people stop scrolling.
You will help manage two connected but distinct social media accounts:
The Prohibition Collection, focussed on bespoke products, trade partnerships, client collaborations and business enquiries.
Prohibition Cocktails, focussed on our direct-to-consumer cocktail range, gifting, seasonal campaigns and online sales.
You will be responsible for suggesting, creating and scheduling organic social content for both accounts, while ensuring each has a clear audience and purpose.
Most photography and larger video production will initially be completed by the founders. Your role will mainly involve turning these assets into engaging content, creating graphics and occasionally filming simple clips.
You will work approximately 10 hours per week, mainly remotely. You will occasionally need to visit our Middlesbrough production site to collect products, discuss upcoming content or create simple behind-the-scenes footage.
There is potential for the responsibilities and hours to increase as the business grows.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
· Planning and maintaining the content calendars for both social media accounts.
· Creating and scheduling TikToks, Instagram Reels, posts and Stories.
· Turning our existing photography and video footage into engaging social media content.
· Creating graphics and marketing materials using Canva.
· Occasionally filming product, packaging or behind-the-scenes content.
· Suggesting original content ideas based on seasons, product launches, customer interests and relevant trends.
· Writing captions and concise product or promotional copy.
· Replying to relevant comments and social media messages.
· Supporting the organic growth of both accounts against agreed targets.
· Coordinating content with a small number of bespoke clients, including agreeing when collaborative posts should be published and sharing suitable assets.
· Occasionally creating or supporting our monthly marketing email.
· Organising and maintaining our digital content library.
· Monitoring performance and providing a straightforward monthly summary of results, insights and ideas.
· Working directly with the founders to plan launches and bring new ideas to life.
This role does not currently include responsibility for paid advertising.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’ll probably enjoy this role if you:
· Genuinely enjoy creating social media content.
· Understand the differences between content designed for consumers and content designed to attract business clients.
· Have a strong eye for branding, visual consistency and aesthetics.
· Keep up with social media trends and can judge which ones genuinely suit a brand.
· Can turn existing photography and footage into content with a clear purpose.
· Are comfortable suggesting your own ideas rather than waiting for detailed instructions.
· Are organised and able to manage your own working time.
· Can balance creativity with commercial goals.
· Have an interest in premium products, gifting, food, drink or lifestyle brands.
THE ROLE MAY NOT SUIT YOU IF
· You need detailed instructions for every piece of content.
· You prefer discussing ideas to actually creating them.
· You use every social trend without considering whether it suits the brand.
· You rely entirely on AI rather than bringing your own creativity and judgement.
· You are looking for a heavily structured or traditional corporate marketing position.
· You are uncomfortable being accountable for agreed social media growth targets.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
· Experience creating engaging content for TikTok and/or Instagram.
· Confidence editing short-form video using CapCut or similar software.
· Strong written English and copywriting ability.
· Confidence creating clean, attractive graphics in Canva.
· A practical understanding of what makes social content perform.
· Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· A genuine enthusiasm for creative marketing.
Formal marketing qualifications are not essential. We care mor about your ability, judgement and ideas.
DESIRABLE
· Experience working with ecommerce, retail or product brands.
· Experience helping to grow a social media account organically.
· Experience creating food, drink, lifestyle or gifting content.
· Experience using social media scheduling tools.
· Basic knowledge of email marketing platforms.
· Knowledge and understanding of premium drinks branding.
· Awareness of UK alcohol marketing rules and responsible drink advertising.
EQUIPMENT
You will initially use your own phone and computer for remote content creation and editing.
We will provide access to the photographs, video footage, brand assets and product information needed for the role. Products may also be provided where needed for agreed content creation.

This role requires original creative thinking and the ability to understand the different audiences of our two brands. We also work with clients who do not permit generative AI within their creative projects.
