Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Travel Operations Director to lead and optimise our travel services. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of travel operations, ensuring seamless coordination, exceptional service delivery, and strategic growth. This role requires strong leadership, management expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced environment. The Travel Operations Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s travel strategy and maintaining high standards of operational excellence.

Duties

Lead and supervise the travel operations team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise travel processes, cost management, and service quality.
Oversee booking procedures, vendor negotiations, and compliance with organisational policies and regulations.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Coordinate with other departments to align travel services with organisational objectives.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation for the travel department.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, including risk assessments related to travel activities.
Foster strong relationships with external partners such as airlines, hotels, and transportation providers.
Lead training programmes for staff development in customer service excellence and operational procedures.
Stay informed of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting travel operations.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a travel or hospitality environment.
Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with strategic thinking and decision-making prowess.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in relevant software systems utilised in travel planning and management.
Ability to adapt swiftly to changing circumstances whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery.
A proactive approach to problem-solving coupled with a customer-focused mindset.
