Residential Support Worker
Oxgangs Children’s Residential House

Salary: £34,452 – 40,501
Hours: 36 per week

Working patterns – Day shift post includes Early and Late shifts worked over a combined shift pattern and working alternate weekend.

Oxgangs House aims to provide positive, safe & nurturing experiences for young people through ensuring nurturing care, respect, connection that is individualised and promotes young people's mental and emotional well-being. Future positive outcomes are a crucial focus to supporting vulnerable young people.

Oxgangs House is a 7 bedded community house, inclusive of a semi-independent flat, offering young people a safe, nurturing & caring environment. You will be joining a dedicated team focussed on making changes to improve outcomes for our young people.

You will work within our team at Oxgangs to support our young people in offering a safe and nurturing environment. You will be working alongside our dedicated staff team who are focussed on making changes to improve outcomes for our young people.

The role of Residential Support Worker (RSW) is a key role for supporting, caring and upholding the rights of children and young people and the ethos of CEC. This is an exciting time to join the team as we continue to build on our strong models of care, specifically, trauma Informed practice, relationship-based practice & Edinburgh's Promise.

We are seeking a child centred, resilient and motivated individual to positively role model and who can make a difference in the lives of young people. The successful candidate will have experience of supporting young people, have a commitment to promoting children's rights and advocating on their behalf. You should have good communication & interpersonal skills, be reliable and adaptable with a clear focus on improving the outcomes for young people.

You should have or be working towards completing SVQ Level 3/HNC or equivalent in Child Care/Social care or related area, or other relevant qualification at SCQF Level 7, or above. There is also a requirement to register with the Scottish Social services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of employment & under the relevant category.
