Full job description

We are recruiting a passionate cycling coach who wants to help our customers exceed their goals and reach their cycling potential. Our classes currently run 7 days a week, early morning, lunchtimes and evenings, and are held in our indoor cycling studio in Brighton.

We're particularly keen to hear from coaches with a background in triathlon. As we grow our triathlon community, this is a great opportunity to shape sessions that speak to endurance athletes as well as our regular members, and to help build our profile with local clubs and events.

You will be expected to:

● Teach classes to current and new members

● Undergo training on PowerWatts software with our Head Coach

● Maintain the studio, including set up and cleaning after classes

● Cover classes for other coaches for holiday/sick leave

● Learn and understand our Critical Power training system (as part of your training)

If you have a triathlon background, there may also be scope to:

● Support tailored performance programmes for our triathlon athletes

● Help develop 1-2-1 coaching plans that consider all types of athletic training including, bike, swim, and run training

● Act as a representative for PowerWatts, strengthening links with local clubs, events, and athletes

● Help build PowerWatts' presence in the community through events and workshops

PowerWatts will provide full training and continuing guidance to develop your skills as a PowerWatts coach and deliver a world-class indoor cycling experience. Using a Critical Power training system, PowerWatts groupset bikes and a year-long periodised training plan, you'll have everything you need to coach and teach the best and most unique indoor cycling experience available.

About you

Ideally you are:

● An experienced cycling coach, or a qualified triathlon/endurance coach (British Triathlon or similar) looking to bring your skills indoors

● Comfortable using data (power, pace, HR, and other metrics) to inform training — or keen to learn

● Personable, motivational, and able to engage both seasoned athletes and newcomers

● Passionate about cycling, and ideally the triathlon lifestyle and community too

Whether someone is building base fitness or preparing for a race, they’re training alongside others in the same room, pushing each other on. ● Advanced resistance trainers — powered by exclusive software created by the performance director of a multi award-winning Pro-Tour team.
