Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Shunter to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of containers within the port of Felixstowe and to depots in the surrounding area.

Duties

Safely manoeuvre HGVs around the yard, ensuring efficient positioning for loading and unloading.
Conduct regular checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working order before moving them.
Collaborate with prologic planning staff to coordinate the flow of goods and make sure deadlines are met.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and report any issues or incidents promptly.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while operating vehicles within the yard.

Requirements

Valid HGV driving licence with experience in commercial driving.
Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous.
Familiarity with the Port of Felixstowe and hold a valid RHIDES card.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and safety awareness.
