Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using MMG welding techniques, to produce high-quality products in accordance with technical specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in sheet metal work to contribute to a dynamic and growing organisation.

The pay rate for this position will be dependent on the individual’s experience.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards
Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide fabrication processes
Use welding techniques specific to Seagull Engineering welding standards to ensure structural integrity of completed work
Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently for cutting, grinding, and finishing metal parts
Conduct quality inspections of welds and fabricated components to meet company standards
Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into final products or structures
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations

Requirements

Proven experience in MIG welding, with a strong understanding of Seagull Engineering welding standards
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment such as shears, presses, and grinders
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints effectively
Familiarity with sheet metal work and assembly processes
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Previous experience with welding or fabrication in an industrial setting is highly desirable
