Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and organized GP Reception Supervisor to lead our front desk team in providing exceptional patient service within a busy medical practice. This vital role involves overseeing daily reception operations, ensuring smooth patient flow, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong office and administrative experience, demonstrate leadership qualities, and thrive in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Your energy and proactive approach will help foster an efficient, friendly atmosphere that supports both patients and staff alike.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the reception team to ensure efficient patient check-in and check-out processes
Oversee appointment scheduling, cancellations, and patient inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
Maintain organized patient records and manage administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and correspondence
Ensure compliance with practice policies, confidentiality standards, and health information regulations
Assist in training new staff members and providing ongoing support to team members to promote high performance
Handle escalated patient concerns or complaints promptly, ensuring positive resolutions
Collaborate with medical staff to optimize clinic operations and improve patient experience

Experience

Proven GP reception supervisor experience with a focus on administrative duties in a healthcare or similar environment
Used clinical system EMIS
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in an office setting is highly desirable
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly yet professional demeanor
Familiarity with appointment scheduling systems and electronic health records is advantageous
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
