Full job description

This is a fixed term contract until March 2028. The hours of work are 15 per week.

The QI Hub provides the strategic direction and facilitation for cultural change in embedding QI, maximising the effectiveness of leaders, managers and supervisors across the Trust, and ensuring the delivery of a fair and inclusive culture, which supports staff health and wellbeing and in which staff feel valued and motivated. It encourages an environment
where people can learn.

This role supports the promotion of a QI culture across the whole Trust through training and the provision of advice and support for QI pieces of work. They will advocate for QI initiatives, tools and methodologies and ensure all stakeholders are engaged, including service users, patients and carers and staff.

The post holder will:

Work with the Director and Deputy Director of Improvement and Partnerships, the Head of Improvement and colleagues in the QI Hub, and Experts by Experience to design, develop and deliver QI training programmes. These programmes will support the development of the improvement capacity and capability required to embed and support a Trust-wide culture of continuous improvement. This training will be

developed using all available methods, for example face-to-face and virtually.

Have a significant responsibility to deliver QI training and upskill staff.
Promote the culture of continuous improvement in their day-to-day work, spreading the common language and methodology used in the trust’s QI approach, following the Model for Improvement.
Work with the QI Hub team members to enable the identification and delivery of the organisation’s training requirements, taking account of identified training needs/priorities, training compliance requirements and service needs. In particular, the post holder will support the planning, delivery and evaluation of the QI Hub’s training programmes.
Support and work collaboratively with the QI Administrator in co-ordinating the training programmes.
Work with colleagues in the QI Hub to maintain and update the team’s intranet pages as required.
Support in promoting the use of co-production throughout QI projects and training.
Provide coaching, advice and support for QI pieces of work alongside QI Team.

This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.

The postholder will:

Provide a range of training delivery, facilitation activities and specific evaluation, which support the aim of providing high quality training and development.
Help employees of the Trust to demonstrate continuous improvement and learning, using QI tools such as: process mapping; driver diagrams; and Plan, Do, Study, Act cycles; in order to deliver high quality, patient-focussed care.
Utilising QI methodology, the post holder will be responsible for recommending and supporting the implementation of QI initiatives alongside the team utilising their developing QI knowledge and skill
The postholder will assist and support colleagues across the organisation, during training and in day-to-day support of work, in following the Model for Improvement and utilising appropriate tools in a timely way. They will use emotional intelligence, and excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills to support change management and the delivery of project outcomes
Actively promote and effectively engage stakeholders to co-produce QI work.
Specifically look at ways to identify and target gaps in the organisation to ensure equitable engagement of all colleagues including students, in Quality Improvement training, Quality Improvement initiatives and/or realising improvements associated to quality priorities and patient care through QI projects.
