Full job description

WJ King is a well-established, independent automotive business over 60 years. As one of the fastest-growing motor dealer groups across South East London and Kent, we represent a range of leading automotive brands, including Vauxhall, Peugeot, SEAT, Suzuki, CUPRA, Kia and BYD.

We are currently seeking a motivated and organised Accounts Assistant to join our centralised Accounts Team based in Dartford, Kent.

The successful candidate will provide support across the day-to-day operations of a busy accounts department. Key responsibilities will include:

Processing a high volume of purchase invoices and matching invoices to Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate creditor accounts.
Processing BACS and cheque payments to suppliers.
Posting vehicle ledger receipts, payments, bonuses, and finance commissions.
Posting and allocating bank transactions.
Completing regular bank reconciliations.
Preparing and posting journal entries.
Reconciling various nominal accounts.
Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar accounts position, together with a sound understanding of accounting principles and procedures. You will possess strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

You should be comfortable working independently and managing your own responsibilities while also contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
