Job Title: Student Services Assistant

Department: Student Services

Contract: Hourly Paid, Permanent

Salary: £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Pension: NEST Pension

The Role

Middlesbrough College is seeking an enthusiastic Student Services Assistant to deliver high-quality support our enrolment and admissions activities, helping prospective and current students access the information, guidance and support they need to begin their college journey successfully.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome students, parents, carers and visitors to the college in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide clear directions and guidance to enrolment areas and college facilities.
Answer general enquiries and signpost visitors to the appropriate departments or members of staff.
Manage queues and support the smooth flow of students throughout the enrolment process.
Assist with maintaining an organised, safe and welcoming reception and waiting area.

Qualifications

Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.

Experience

Experience of dealing with a wide range of people.
Experience in working within a busy environment.

Knowledge & Skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential issues.
Good IT skills.
