Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating forklift trucks, and maintaining smooth warehouse operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your warehouse management skills and mechanical knowledge in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safe and timely movement of goods within the facility.

Duties

Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control
Manage materials handling using warehouse management systems to track stock levels and locations
Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform minor repairs or report faults for maintenance
Load and unload goods from lorries, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
Organise storage areas to optimise space utilisation and facilitate easy access
Support with stock replenishment, order picking, and packing processes as required
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

Qualifications

Proven experience operating forklift trucks within a warehouse environment
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting
Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and shipping & receiving protocols
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements
Physical fitness with the ability to undertake heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts
Awareness of health & safety standards in a warehouse setting

This role is ideal for candidates with previous warehouse experience who are committed to maintaining high safety standards while ensuring operational efficiency.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
