CityEnds is looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our Birmingham team in a practical, coordination-focused role supporting property, building and business projects. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys organising people, information, deadlines and day-to-day activity and wants to build solid project management experience within a commercial environment.
This is an operational project management position based on site in Birmingham, rather than a software delivery, Agile or Scrum Master role. You will work closely with colleagues, clients, suppliers and other project contacts, helping to keep work organised, documented and moving according to plan.
About CityEnds
CityEnds operates within the real estate and building sector, working across residential and commercial projects with an emphasis on project planning, coordination and delivery. The business covers areas including commercial spaces, residential development and wider building projects, with its Birmingham base located in Yardley.
For someone at the earlier stages of their project management career, the role offers exposure to how projects are organised from initial planning through to implementation, reporting and completion.
The Role
As Junior Project Manager, you will support the planning and coordination of multiple activities at different stages.
Your day may involve checking project schedules in the morning, following up with a supplier or internal department, preparing an update for management, reviewing outstanding actions and making sure documentation is accurate before the next stage of a project begins.
You will gradually take responsibility for larger pieces of work as your knowledge and capability develop.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating project tasks, deadlines, schedules and action points
- Supporting project planning from initial brief through to delivery
- Maintaining project trackers, documents, records and progress reports
- Following up with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders
- Preparing meeting notes, project updates and action lists
- Monitoring outstanding tasks and escalating delays or issues when necessary
- Supporting procurement, quotations, supplier information and project administration
- Helping coordinate site visits, meetings and project activity where required
- Checking that information and documentation are complete before project milestones
- Assisting with budgets, expenditure records, invoices and basic cost tracking
- Communicating progress clearly to managers and relevant stakeholders
- Identifying practical problems that could affect deadlines or delivery
- Supporting several workstreams at the same time while maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to improvements in project processes and internal organisation
Who We Are Looking For
You do not need to already hold a Project Manager title.
We are particularly interested in people who have developed strong coordination and organisational skills through positions such as:
- Project Coordinator
- Project Administrator
- Operations Coordinator
- Property Administrator
- Property or Lettings Coordinator
- Construction Administrator
- Facilities Coordinator
- Office Coordinator
- Business Support
- Client Services
- Sales Support
- Procurement or Supplier Administration
- Account Coordination
You should be comfortable working in a professional environment where priorities can change and several people may need information from you at the same time.
We are looking for:
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Good attention to detail, particularly with documents, dates and follow ups
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Confidence speaking with colleagues, clients, contractors and suppliers
- Ability to prioritise several tasks without losing track of deadlines
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
- Confidence working with spreadsheets, trackers, calendars and shared documents
- A practical approach to problem solving
- Good administrative and record keeping skills
- An understanding of project coordination, operations or workflow management
- Reliability and the ability to follow tasks through to completion
- Commercial awareness and an interest in property, construction or business operations
- A genuine interest in developing into a broader project management position
Previous experience within property, estate agency, construction, facilities, operations or a project-based business would be useful, but it is not essential.
A project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or a related degree can be beneficial, although practical coordination experience and the ability to manage day-to-day project activity are equally important.
Location and Working Arrangement
This position is fully on site in Birmingham and requires regular face-to-face coordination with the team and other project contacts.
Applicants should therefore be able to commute reliably to the Birmingham workplace throughout the working week and be available for a permanent, office-based position.
Please consider the location and daily commute before applying. This role is particularly well suited to candidates already based within Birmingham or the wider West Midlands, including areas such as Solihull, Coventry, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Wolverhampton and surrounding areas where a daily commute is practical.
There is currently no remote or hybrid arrangement attached to this vacancy.
Salary and Development
Starting salary: £28,000 per year
Your salary and performance will be reviewed after your first 6 months, with the potential for the base salary to increase to £32,000 based on performance, capability and the level of responsibility you are able to take on.
The aim is to develop someone who can progress from supporting projects to managing defined workstreams and, with experience, taking greater responsibility for complete projects.
What You Can Expect
- Structured introduction to CityEnds' projects, systems and working processes
- Hands-on exposure to project planning and delivery
- Experience working with different departments, suppliers and commercial contacts
- Regular involvement in live projects rather than purely theoretical project management
- Development across planning, stakeholder communication, reporting and coordination
- Six-month salary and performance review
- Opportunity to increase your level of project responsibility as your experience develops
- Exposure to the property, real estate and building sector
- A Birmingham-based role with long-term professional development potential

If you are organised, commercially minded and looking for an opportunity to build practical project management experience, we would like to hear from you.
Please apply with an up-to-date CV outlining your experience in project coordination, administration, operations, property, construction, client services, business support or another relevant professional environment.
