Full job description

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement business-development strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
Identify and assess potential locations for new fuel stations and convenience stores.
Conduct market, competitor, traffic, demographic, and site-feasibility analysis.
Build financial models and business cases for new sites, acquisitions, refurbishments, and commercial initiatives.
Source and negotiate opportunities with landlords, property owners, developers, fuel suppliers, franchise partners, and other stakeholders.
Manage commercial negotiations, contracts, leases, supply agreements, and partnership arrangements.
Develop new revenue streams, including food-to-go, car wash, parcel services, electric-vehicle charging, ATM, advertising, and other ancillary services.
Work with operations teams to improve sales, margins, customer traffic, product mix, and profitability across existing locations.
Analyse fuel volumes, shop sales, gross margins, operating costs, and local market trends.
Develop relationships with fleet operators, corporate customers, wholesalers, and local businesses.
Coordinate new-site projects with operations, finance, property, construction, legal, marketing, and compliance teams.
Support store-layout improvements, product-range development, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns.
Monitor competitor activity and recommend appropriate commercial responses.
Ensure proposed developments comply with planning, environmental, health and safety, fuel-storage, licensing, and other applicable requirements.
Prepare forecasts, performance reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management.
Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and commercial negotiations.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, property, retail management, or a related discipline preferred.
Proven experience in business development, commercial management, retail expansion, property development, or sales.
Experience in fuel retail, convenience stores, forecourt operations, franchising, FMCG, automotive services, or a related sector is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and convert them into profitable commercial agreements.
Experience preparing business cases, budgets, forecasts, and investment proposals.
Strong contract-negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
Good understanding of retail performance measures, including sales, volume, margin, operating costs, and return on investment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and reporting tools.
Good to have Valid driving license and willingness to travel regularly between sites.

Marketing and Promotion: Awareness of marketing strategies to attract and retain customers. Involvement in marketing campaigns or promotions is a plus.
Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills to motivate and supervise staff effectively.
Communication: Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, staff, and suppliers.
Problem-Solving: The ability to quickly address issues such as customer complaints, staff conflicts, or operational challenges.
Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Ensure that food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards are consistently met.
Customer Focus: A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and resolving customer issues.
Teamwork: Collaborate with staff and other managers to achieve common goals, ability to work well cross-culturally with teams in different regions of the world,
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for tasks like inventory tracking, scheduling, and financial reporting.
Customer Service Experience: Experience in customer-facing roles to understand customer needs and expectations.
