Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Cleaning Assistant to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in our Nursing Home. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, previous experience in janitorial or commercial cleaning, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike.

Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in commercial settings
Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, and communal areas according to health and safety standards
Empty bins, replenish supplies such as soap and paper towels, and ensure waste is disposed of appropriately
Use cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively, adhering to company guidelines
Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning tasks to the supervisor
Follow established health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a secure working environment
Assist with specialised cleaning tasks as required, including carpet cleaning or window washing

Skills

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and thoroughly
Good organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Reliable with a positive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards
Physical stamina to perform manual cleaning duties throughout the shift
Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment is advantageous
