Restaurant Manager – Fornello Restaurant, Battle

Fornello is an independent, neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Battle, serving high quality food with warm, friendly service. We're looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our front of house team and help deliver exceptional customer experiences every service.

This is a hands-on management role. We are a small, close-knit team, so we're looking for someone who leads by example, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, and enjoys working alongside the team during busy services.

Working Pattern

Full-time

Wednesday to Sunday

Friday and Saturday evening shifts are essential

Potential for Sundays off in the future

What You'll Be Doing

Managing the day-to-day operation of the restaurant

Leading, motivating and supporting the front of house team

Delivering outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere

Managing reservations and ensuring smooth service throughout each shift

Training and developing team members

Handling customer feedback professionally and positively

Opening and closing the restaurant, including cashing up where required

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service

Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service

Being fully hands-on during busy periods, serving customers, making coffees and supporting the team wherever needed

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager

Strong leadership and organisational skills

A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences

Excellent communication and people skills

Meticulous attention to detail

Barista/coffee-making skills are essential

Wine knowledge is highly desirable

Flexible, reliable and willing to work Friday and Saturday evenings

A positive attitude with a genuine team-player mentality
