Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef/Manager to lead our culinary team and deliver exceptional sushi experiences. This dynamic role combines expert food preparation with team leadership, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. As a key member of our restaurant, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, mentor staff, and uphold our commitment to authentic Japanese cuisine in a lively, welcoming environment. Responsibilities

Prepare and craft a variety of sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards
Supervise kitchen operations, including food production, quality control, and maintaining food safety protocols
Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff and servers, fostering a positive work environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage to minimize waste and maintain freshness
Uphold all health regulations and safety standards to ensure a clean, safe working environment for staff and customers
Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service expectations
Oversee restaurant service flow during busy hours to ensure prompt delivery of high-quality dishes

Requirements

Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced culinary or restaurant setting, preferably with a focus on Japanese cuisine or sushi preparation
Strong background in food production, cooking, and kitchen experience with an emphasis on food safety practices
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative atmosphere
Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques specific to sushi and other Japanese dishes
Experience in hospitality environments with excellent customer service skills
Familiarity with restaurant operations including serving procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
