Full job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Hotel Night Porter. As a Night Porter, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hotel premises and providing exceptional customer service to guests during the night shift. Your primary role will be to maintain a welcoming and secure environment for guests while attending to their needs and requests during the night hours. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanour while interacting with guests
- Ensure the safety and security of the hotel premises by monitoring surveillance systems, conducting regular security checks, and promptly addressing any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints during the night shift, providing efficient and accurate information or resolving issues to the best of your ability.
- Assist guests with luggage, parking, and other relevant services, ensuring their comfort and convenience.
- Complete the check-in and check-out processes for guests arriving or departing during the night shift, including verifying guest information, processing payments, and issuing room keys.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the lobby, reception area, and other public spaces throughout the night, including arranging furniture, replenishing supplies, and keeping the area organized.
- Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure the smooth operation of night services
- Handle emergency situations, such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, or power outages, following established procedures and promptly notifying the appropriate authorities or hotel management.
- Prepare and serve light refreshments or meals to guests upon request during the night shift.
- Keep accurate records of guest interactions, incidents, and any other relevant information in the appropriate hotel logbooks or computer systems.

Requirements:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, demonstrating a high level of responsibility and reliability.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Flexibility to work weekends, and public holidays as required.
