Full job description

The Role - West Sussex

As a Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying, targeting and winning new business opportunities across the West Sussex area. Working alongside the Regional Sales Manager and Field Account Managers, you'll develop strategic sales plans, engage prospective customers and convert opportunities into long-term profitable partnerships.

You will be passionate about sales, commercially astute and determined to outperform the competition while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation

Deliver the regional new business sales strategy in partnership with the Regional Sales Manager and Field Account Managers.
Identify and target new customers, winning business from competitors.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth across your territory.
Accurately forecast pipeline and revenue performance.
Represent Wastekit and phs professionally with prospective customers.
Focus on the quality and effectiveness of sales activity to maximise results.
Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records using CRM systems.

Continuous Improvement

Proactively identify opportunities to improve sales processes and ways of working.
Analyse challenges, identify root causes and contribute solutions.
Share best practice and drive continuous improvement across the sales team.

Customer & Sales Excellence

Champion a customer-first approach in everything you do.
Promote a culture of exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
Leverage targeted marketing campaigns to unlock new opportunities and increase market penetration.

About You

We're looking for a driven sales professional who loves the challenge of hunting for new business and consistently delivering results.

Skills & Knowledge

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong commercial awareness and analytical thinking.
Ability to identify opportunities and convert them into sales.
Sound understanding of modern sales methodologies.
IT literate and confident using CRM systems.
Experience managing and growing business across a large geographical territory.

Experience Required

Proven success delivering against new business growth targets.
Strong track record in a strategic business development or hunter sales role.
Experience using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce (SFDC).
Experience within waste management, machinery sales, industrial products or a related sector is advantageous.
