Full job description

Location: near Hoxton Station

Salary: £44,000 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Shift Pattern: 6:30am – 3:00pm

Holiday Entitlement: 23 days plus Bank Holidays

About the Role

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a talented Corporate Sous Chef to help expand our Central Production Unit (CPU) operation at Bennett Hay.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing area of our business, helping shape the future of food across a dynamic, independent London-based company.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll support the day-to-day operation of our Central Production Unit, helping to produce outstanding fresh food while mentoring junior chefs and maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality food daily for our corporate clients.
Support the Head Chef in the smooth running of the Central Production Unit.
Lead, coach and develop junior team members through hands-on culinary leadership.
Contribute to menu development, recipe creation and product innovation.
Assist with recipe management, allergen compliance and nutritional information.
Support food cost control, stock management and production logistics.
Ensure exceptional food safety, hygiene and compliance standards are maintained at all times.
Deputise for the Head Chef during periods of absence.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistently high standards across the operation.

What We’re Looking For

Experience working within a Central Production Unit (CPU).
Previous Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie experience within high-quality catering or hospitality.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Experience creating and developing a broad range of menus.
Knowledge of recipe management and nutritional systems, with good basic computer literacy being advantageous.
Outstanding food safety knowledge and a strong understanding of compliance procedures.
A proactive attitude, positive energy and a genuine passion for hospitality.
A collaborative approach with the ability to inspire and support others.
