Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our chef in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within a dynamic food service environment. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen space. Prior experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant settings is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work areas, utensils, and equipment
Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision, gaining practical culinary experience
Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential
Basic knowledge of food preparation, safety standards, and kitchen hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
A positive attitude and willingness to contribute as part of a team
