Location: The Broadstraik Inn
Hours: Full-time
Pay: From £16 per hour, dependent on experience
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years’ previous Head Chef experience

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Head Chef role. You will need to be a confident kitchen leader with strong knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and kitchen compliance, and have the ability to lead and motivate a busy kitchen team while maintaining consistently high standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join The Broadstraik Inn, a family-run Restaurant and Bar serving a traditional Scottish menu alongside popular pub classics.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about food, takes pride in their work and is confident overseeing the day-to-day running of a busy kitchen.

Key Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ previous experience as a Head Chef
Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a kitchen team
Strong knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and kitchen compliance
Experience managing a busy kitchen and working effectively under pressure
Passion for producing high-quality, consistent food
Strong organisational skills with a reliable and professional approach
Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen
Lead, train, supervise and develop members of the kitchen team
Create and develop menu items while maintaining the quality and consistency of our existing offering
Ensure all food is prepared, cooked and presented to a consistently high standard
Work closely with management to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
Monitor stock levels and manage ordering of food and kitchen supplies
Maintain effective stock control and minimise waste
Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised and operated in accordance with food hygiene and health & safety requirements
Ensure all allergen and kitchen compliance procedures are followed
Maintain a positive, professional and well-organised working environment

About The Broadstraik Inn

We are a family-run Restaurant and Bar serving traditional Scottish dishes alongside favourite pub classics.

Food is served daily in our restaurant:

Friday & Saturday: 12pm – 9pm
Sunday – Thursday: 12pm – 8pm
