About the role

Join our Regulatory Team as a Legal Officer for Property

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Property Officer to join our in-house Legal Services team to take a leading role in managing legal casework in property and land matters, including Right to Buy transactions and related legal matters.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with client services and external partners to facilitate property sales, resolve issues and contribute to the effective delivery of Legal Services' objectives.

You will have excellent communication and case management skills. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality services, driving continuous improvement, and making a positive impact on residents and communities.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Property Officer to join our in-house legal team. The role will require you to undertake a caseload of work including:

Managing a caseload of routine property and estates matters under supervision, including RTB, lease renewals, licences and minor disposals
Preparing legal documents, title reviews, reports, Land Registry applications, search results and draft correspondence
Obtaining information from client services and provide initial advice on routine matters such as RTB eligibility checks, title issues and standard property queries
Supporting routine negotiations and attend inspections, site visits or tribunals (e.g. boundary issues)
Maintain accurate case management records (Iken), title bundles and registers
Liaise with surveyors, housing officers, estates officers, external conveyancers and Land Registry staff

About you

You will:

Have a Law Degree or equivalent qualification.
Have partial qualifying work experience and/or working towards qualification within 18months.
Have evidence of continuing professional development.
Have experience managing a routine caseload under supervision.
Have knowledge of property work including right to buy transactions.
