Airport Manager - England & Channel Islands

Join British Airways' Worldwide Airports Directorate as our Airport Manager – England & Channel Islands, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering safe, seamless and exceptional airport operations across our regional network.

Based in Manchester, this high-profile operational leadership role sits at the heart of our customer and operational delivery. Supporting the Regional Airports Manager – UK & Ireland, you'll provide critical safety, compliance and operational oversight across Manchester, Newcastle, Jersey and Guernsey, helping to ensure every flight departs safely, efficiently and on time.

This is far more than an airport management role. You'll be the face of British Airways across the region, leading, motivating and influencing a network of suppliers and operational partners responsible for nearly 100 departures every week. Through your leadership, you'll help create an environment where people feel empowered to perform at their best while delivering the high standards our customers expect.

No two days are the same. One moment you could be driving operational improvements and strengthening supplier performance; the next you'll be leading responses to live operational challenges, supporting colleagues through disruption, or identifying opportunities to enhance safety, customer experience and efficiency.

What you’ll do:

Lead the operational performance delivery of all suppliers at your airports.
Support your Deputy Airport Manager in the delivery of agreed targets and goals in addition to the control of expenditure.
You will be accountable for all required safety activities in your airports, ensuring they are fulfilled in a set and timely manner. This includes (but is not limited to) LPM, Audits, Station Emergency Response Procedures, and BCP's.
Act as the Local Emergency Coordinator (LEC).
Represent British Airways' interests within your airports; AOC, Monthly Airport Authority Account Meetings, etc.
Ensure that all airport activities are undertaken in compliance with BA’s corporate security and safety instructions, local security standards.
Deputise for your APM colleagues during absence, maintaining effective links with relevant Head Office departments and service partners for day-to-day operational issues.
Ensure that the quality of service delivered is in line with service level and contractual agreements. Obtain the highest level of performance and motivation through successful communication and influencing skills
Ensure all local resources are utilised in such a manner that customer satisfaction and revenue is maximised, and efficiency is increased within given constraints.

Your experience:

Airport operations experience, or exposure to operational decision making. (Essential)

Experience of managing suppliers in an operational environment. (Essential)

A proven track record, demonstrating experience of decision making whilst balancing the complex needs of the operation, our people and the business.
