Contract: Casual (Matchdays Only)

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for caring, approachable, and proactive individuals to join our Matchday Safeguarding Team as Matchday Wellbeing Support Officers.

This important role focuses on supporting the welfare and safeguarding of children, young people, adults at risk, and vulnerable supporters attending Leeds United home fixtures. Working as part of the wider Matchday Wellbeing Team, you will help promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all visitors to Elland Road.

The successful candidate will be passionate about safeguarding, confident communicating with a wide variety of people, and able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced matchday environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Attend all Leeds United home fixtures and provide welfare and safeguarding support where required.

Take a proactive approach to safeguarding children, young people, and adults at risk.

Support the delivery of a positive safeguarding culture across matchdays.

Identify, report, and record safeguarding concerns in line with Club policies and procedures.

Use the MyConcern system to log safeguarding reports and actions accurately.

Work closely with fellow Wellbeing Support Officers and the Disability Liaison Officer (DLO) to support vulnerable supporters.

Remain vigilant and observant throughout matchdays, responding appropriately to welfare concerns.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Ensure all safeguarding, welfare, health & safety, and equality procedures are followed.

Attend mandatory safeguarding training and ongoing professional development sessions.

Carry out any other reasonable duties to support the Matchday Safeguarding Team.

Experience within a safeguarding, welfare, education, health, social care, community, or support environment.

Experience applying safeguarding policies and procedures.

Experience supporting individuals in a customer-facing or public environment.

Experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.

FA Welfare Officer Certificate.

Safeguarding training and/or relevant safeguarding experience.

Understanding of a child-centred approach to safeguarding and welfare.
