We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Safeguarding Officer to join our team and support some of our most vulnerable residents. You'll play a vital role in responding to safeguarding concerns, assessing risk and providing practical, emotional and specialist support to residents experiencing domestic abuse, mental health challenges, substance misuse, hoarding and other complex needs.

Working closely with residents, colleagues and external agencies, you'll help people feel safe, supported and able to move forward. This is a role where your expertise, judgement and ability to build trust can have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of residents and their families.

What you’ll be doing

Assessing safeguarding referrals, identifying risks and ensuring residents receive the right support at the right time.
Providing person-centred advocacy, emotional and practical support to residents experiencing domestic abuse and other complex needs.
Developing safety and support plans, carrying out ongoing risk assessments and responding effectively to crisis situations.
Working closely with MARAC, Social Care, local authorities and other partner agencies to coordinate effective safeguarding responses.
Supporting residents affected by domestic abuse, hoarding, substance misuse, mental health concerns and other vulnerabilities.
Advocating for residents and helping them access appropriate housing, health, welfare, legal and specialist support services.
Working with colleagues to promote early intervention, tenancy sustainment and better outcomes for vulnerable residents.
Providing safeguarding advice, training and information to colleagues to help strengthen awareness and improve practice across PA Housing.

What we’re looking for:

At least 3 years' experience managing safeguarding cases within a housing or local authority environment.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice relating to both adults and children.
Extensive experience supporting and advocating for survivors of domestic abuse, including understanding the dynamics and impact of abuse.
Experience carrying out complex risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support planning.
A relevant qualification or training in areas such as safeguarding, domestic abuse, social work, criminal justice, law or substance misuse.
Experience working in partnership with agencies such as MARAC, Social Care, local authorities and other specialist services.
Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build trust with residents and professional partners.
A person-centred, resilient and compassionate approach, with the ability to manage complex cases and high-volume caseloads effectively.
