Job Summary

Join our vibrant team as a Charity Shop Assistant and become a vital part of our mission to support community initiatives through engaging retail experiences. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist with daily shop operations, and help create a welcoming environment for all visitors. Your enthusiasm and dedication will directly contribute to the success of our charitable efforts, making a positive impact in the community while gaining valuable experience in retail, administration, and customer engagement.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and offer friendly assistance to enhance their shopping experience
Operate cash registers, process sales accurately, and handle cash and card transactions securely
Restock shelves, organize donated items, and ensure the shop remains tidy and inviting
Assist with inventory management by recording donations and updating stock records using basic IT systems
Provide information about our charity’s work and encourage donations or volunteering opportunities
Support administrative tasks such as maintaining records of sales, donations, and customer feedback
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily shop operations and uphold health and safety standards

Qualifications

Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
Basic IT skills for handling sales systems, record-keeping, and administrative tasks
Previous administrative experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting donations
Enthusiasm for working in a community-focused environment with a positive mindset
Experience Essential in working in retail, charity shops and the community.
