About The Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? An exciting fixed term role is available as an Early Help Attendance Mentor with the Bright Futures service. In this role, you will provide targeted support to children and young people who are persistently absent from school. Your proactive and assertive approach will help improve and sustain their attendance through effective individual and group interventions.

Bright Futures is dedicated to empowering children and families within our community. We operate through three locality teams, providing integrated support to help families reach their full potential and build resilience. Our goal is to improve long-term outcomes for all families in Islington.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategies to improve school attendance.
Provide short-term, intensive one-to-one support to students with persistent absenteeism.
Identify the reasons behind poor attendance and create personalised strategies to address these issues.
Collaborate with school staff and engage with parents and young people to foster a supportive environment.
Monitor and report on attendance patterns and progress.

You should have:

Experience of working with children and families in an educational or social care setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This post is front line and to meet the needs of children and young people the successful candidate is required to work in borough 5 days per week.
