Senior Care Assistant Days full time

Based at our stunning, brand-new care home, Elm Lodge in Hartley Wintney, RG27 8JG. Newly opened, Elm Lodge is a 60-bedded care home providing residential care and offers a fantastic opportunity to set the foundations of an outstanding home.

We are looking for a full time, reliable, caring Senior Care Assistant who wants to make a difference by contributing to providing the best care possible at all times. Starting salary £14.20 per hour. Alternate weekend working will be required. Day shifts are 8am – 8pm.

Main Duties of our Senior Care Assistants;

Ensure all junior staff contribute to the best of their ability; in both the efficient running of the home, and its atmosphere.
Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet.
Assist with medication administration as required/directed
Assist residents with mobility problems and/or other physical disabilities.
Promote the mental and physical activity of residents through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, and any other hobbies that they might have.
Assist residents at meal times if required
Read and write reports in case notes.
Answer emergency bells
To undertake any other duties as required by line management

Skills and Experience of our Senior Care Assistants;

NVQ Qualification – NVQ 3 essential.
A genuine willingness to care for Senior Adults within a Care Home environment
Previous experience in leading or supervising a Care Team desirable
High level of written and spoken English

This role is subject to a successful DBS check.

While it is no longer a requirement that people we employ are vaccinated against Covid-19, we still strongly believe that vaccination remains the best line of defence and we therefore continue to encourage all current and prospective staff to be fully vaccinated.
