Full job description

Alpha Wholesale is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Officer to join our busy finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and accounting skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing excellent service to both customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Processing and invoicing daily sales delivery notes and distributing invoices to customers.
Managing the Accounts inbox and ensuring all queries are dealt with promptly and professionally.
Entering purchase invoices accurately onto the Intact accounting system.
Processing customer payments, including bank transfers and card payments, and allocating them to the relevant invoices.
Authorising approved credit requests and processing customer credit notes.
Maintaining bookkeeping records and updating financial spreadsheets, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and accurately filed.
Responding to customer and supplier queries via email and telephone.
Sending monthly payment reminder emails to customers ahead of month-end.
Issuing customer statements at month-end and supporting credit control activities.
Reconciling supplier statements and ensuring all invoices and credit notes have been received and processed.
Assisting the Finance Manager in maintaining customer credit limits, including insured and discretionary credit facilities.
Supporting the wider finance function with ad hoc administrative and accounting duties as required.

Skills and Experience

Essential

Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Confident telephone manner and strong written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Minimum AAT level 3, and at least 2 years accounts experience
