Outbound New Business Sales Consultant
Manchester | B2B New Business | Clear Route into Field Sales
Can you turn a cold prospect into a genuine business opportunity?

AEC is looking for a confident, commercially minded Outbound New Business Sales Consultant to join our growing sales team.

This isn't a role where you'll simply work through a list and book appointments.
We're looking for an opportunity creator - someone who enjoys finding the right organisations, reaching the right decision-makers, starting meaningful conversations and uncovering genuine opportunities for AEC.

You'll introduce prospective customers to AEC's range of compliance services, including asbestos consultancy, water and Legionella services, occupational hygiene, fire safety and training, developing prospects from initial contact through discovery and qualification to a genuine sales opportunity.

What you'll be doing

Proactively identifying and targeting new B2B customers.
Engaging senior decision-makers through telephone, email, LinkedIn and networking.
Asking the right questions to uncover customer needs and commercial opportunities.
Developing cold prospects into properly qualified sales opportunities.
Securing meaningful next steps, including discovery meetings and client visits.
Working closely with our sales, marketing and technical teams to progress opportunities.
Managing your prospects and pipeline effectively through Pipedrive.
Building knowledge of AEC's services and the markets we support.

What we're looking for

You'll already have experience in B2B outbound sales or new business development and, importantly, be able to demonstrate that you have personally created opportunities from cold prospects.

You'll be:

Confident picking up the phone and approaching new decision-makers.
Curious, with strong questioning and listening skills.
Commercially aware and able to recognise a genuine opportunity.
Resilient, persistent and self-motivated.
Comfortable working to clear, measurable KPIs.
Organised and disciplined in managing your sales pipeline.
A strong communicator who can quickly build credibility with prospective customers.

Experience selling consultancy, professional, technical or compliance services would be an advantage, but we're equally interested in people with a strong record of creating B2B opportunities who are keen to learn our industry.

Where could this role take you?

This role is designed to offer genuine sales career progression.

Initially, you'll focus on becoming highly effective at outbound prospecting, discovery and opportunity creation.

As your knowledge and capability develop, you'll have opportunities to join customer meetings and site visits, work alongside experienced sales and technical colleagues, develop proposal and closing skills and take increasing ownership of the opportunities you create.

For the right performer, this provides a clear development route towards a field-based Business Development role, managing opportunities through the full sales cycle.
