Job Description

What you’ll be doing
As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

Key responsibilities

Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

We’re looking for a full-time Dispensing Optician to join our friendly team at Boots Opticians in Wigan. Our bright, open-plan store has 2 testing rooms, OCT, phoropters, and serves a mixed patient demographic.

Full-time, 5 days per week including one weekend day (alternate patterns possible). Test times are 25 minutes, occasional sickness cover across our hub may be required. Free parking, bus route nearby, and train station 15 mins walk. Newly qualified welcome.
