Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Transport Operations Manager to lead and optimize our transportation and logistics functions. This pivotal role involves overseeing the end-to-end management of transportation activities, ensuring seamless coordination across supply chain operations, and driving continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in logistics, transportation management systems, and warehouse operations, with a passion for enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and fostering a safety-first environment. Duties

Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining cost efficiency.
Supervise transportation teams, including drivers, warehouse staff, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety and accountability.
Manage profit & loss responsibilities by monitoring budgets, controlling expenses, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and AS400 to streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy.
Oversee shipping & receiving activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize routes, reduce transit times, and improve overall service levels.
Coordinate with supply chain partners to align logistics strategies with organizational goals while managing warehouse operations including forklift usage and inventory control.

Requirements

Proven supervising experience in transportation or logistics environments with a track record of leading teams effectively.
Strong understanding of profit & loss management within a logistics context.
Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and AS400 platforms.
Knowledge of 3PL providers, shipping & receiving protocols, and warehouse processes including forklift operation and warehouse safety standards.
Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives within complex supply chain settings.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and external partners effectively.
