Full job description

Tannlin is headquartered thirty miles south of Glasgow, adjacent to Prestwick International Aerospace Park, in Scotland. The Group supplies customers in aerospace, medical, defence, electronic and automotive industries; where Tannlin Technology designs and manufactures laser cutting systems, laser cut parts and is the home of the research and development group; and Tannlin UK designs and manufactures laser cut stencils and PCBA tooling. With a common set of values and standards all those involved in the business strive to continuously deliver the highest quality products.

Manufacturing sites and sales offices worldwide allow Tannlin to work closely with customers in the twenty eight countries that Tannlin has exported to.

Tannlin are offering an opportunity to join an independent international engineering company in Prestwick in manufacturing operations. Ideally the person should be an organised, reliable individual with an attention to detail who is able to work as part of a team and on their own initiative with a positive attitude.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE

Working within a team environment
Operating laser machine to company standard
Inspecting parts to official drawings
Reading 2D drawings
Operating measurement equipment to verify material, parts and dimensions
Preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment
Communicating effectively to ensure continued improvement
Follow established manufacturing and production processes to maintain high standards of quality and productivity
Use initiative and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions that positively impact production performance and product quality

WORKING HOURS AND SHIFT REQUIREMENTS

This role operates on a 4 x 10-hour shift pattern, with working hours generally scheduled between 10:00am and 8:00pm. Employees will work four days per week and benefit from three days off each week.

Due to the nature of the business, overtime may be required to meet operational demands. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a reasonable degree of flexibility in their working hours when requested.

The role may also require participation in a multi-shift working pattern to support business needs.

A shift allowance is payable for qualifying hours worked after 7:00pm.

The position is full time/permanent (subject to a satisfactory trial period).

REQUIRED SKILLS

Good standard of education required with ideally a Standard Grade (or equivalent) in Maths, Physics and Graphic Communication. You must be hard working, keen to learn and have good attention to detail. Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential. On job training of operating laser systems will be provided if required.
