Breakfast Chef – The Cornish Arms Group

Tavistock | Lamerton | North Bovey

The Cornish Arms Group is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Breakfast Chef to join our team and help deliver exceptional breakfasts across our growing collection of pubs.

At the heart of the group is The Cornish Arms, Tavistock – an award-winning gastropub with a strong reputation for seasonal, produce-led cooking. Alongside it sits The Blacksmiths Arms, Lamerton, a thriving village pub serving quality food in a relaxed setting, and The Ring of Bells, North Bovey, our beautifully restored country inn offering quality food, welcoming hospitality, and boutique accommodation.

With three successful sites across Devon, this is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and growing hospitality business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who enjoys working independently, takes pride in delivering consistently high standards, and wants to be part of a supportive and professional kitchen team.

The Role ~

As Breakfast Chef, you’ll take ownership of the morning service, ensuring guests enjoy a consistently high-quality breakfast experience while setting the kitchen up for a successful day ahead.

Key Responsibilities ~

Prepare and cook breakfast dishes to a consistently high standard
Organise and manage breakfast service efficiently and professionally
Ensure all breakfast mise en place is completed and the kitchen is prepared for the day’s service
Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements
Maintain exceptional food hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety standards
Work closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure a smooth handover into lunch service
Minimise waste and maintain effective stock rotation
Take pride in presentation, consistency, and guest satisfaction

What We’re Looking For ~

Previous experience as a Breakfast Chef, Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, or similar role
A genuine passion for producing high-quality breakfasts using fresh ingredients
Ability to work efficiently and independently during early morning service
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider kitchen team
Good understanding of food safety and kitchen procedures
