Home. There's no place like it.
And there's no feeling quite like helping people create the joy of feeling truly at home.
At Dunelm, that's what we do. As the UK's leading homewares retailer, we're passionate about making home life lovelier for our customers. Just as importantly, we've created a workplace where people feel welcome, valued and able to make a real impact. A place where you can bring your ideas, be yourself, and feel right at home.
About the team
Our Store Experience team plays a big part in how customers experience Dunelm every time they walk through our doors.
From store formats and design to space planning, planograms, signage and in-store communications, we help bring the Dunelm brand to life across our Lifestyle, Local and Superstore estate. We also lead the delivery of new store openings and renewal projects, ensuring every space feels welcoming, inspiring and easy to shop.
We're a highly collaborative team, partnering with colleagues across Marketing, Store Operations, Commercial, Space Planning, Continuous Improvement, Insight & Analytics, Finance and Store Development. Together, we create a joined-up experience that works seamlessly for both our customers and our colleagues.
You'll play a key role in bringing our in-store experience to life through effective POS, signage and store communications. Working closely with teams across the business, you'll help ensure our customers enjoy a seamless and engaging shopping experience, while giving our store colleagues the tools and guidance they need to deliver it brilliantly.
Day to day, you'll:
- Become an expert in the critical paths, processes and systems that support successful project and campaign launches.
- Create clear and accurate briefs, allocation sheets and POS requirements for our creative partners at ITG.
- Develop a strong understanding of our different store formats and how they influence POS requirements, communication needs and stock allocations.
- Produce communication packs and implementation guides that make it easy for store teams to execute plans consistently and confidently.
- Build strong relationships with store colleagues, ensuring there are effective communication channels in place for bespoke projects and ongoing initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with teams across Store Operations, Continuous Improvement, Commercial, Marketing and ITG to deliver joined-up solutions.
- Keep up to date with store format developments and ensure any changes are reflected in POS planning and execution.
- Support the consistent application of our brand guidelines across all in-store communications.
- Use Excel to manage POS sequencing and data that feeds into template creation and store execution.
- Support commercial priorities by understanding current and future POS strategies across our departments.
- Use customer insight and shopping behaviours to identify opportunities that improve navigation, ease of shop and the overall customer experience.
- Help create POS and signage solutions that guide customers through their shopping journey and support self-service purchasing.
- Maintain and update our POS database to ensure stores continue to receive accurate and relevant information.
- Communicate regularly with key stakeholders across the business to ensure successful in-store launches and ongoing improvements.
- Create assets from existing creative campaigns, while also bringing new ideas to life using tools such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
- Gather feedback from stores, sharing insights that drive continuous improvement and improve future implementation.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, helping refine processes and ways of working to make delivery even better.
- Build positive relationships across the business through clear, effective and collaborative communication.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, ensuring all POS materials are delivered on time and to a high standard.
We're looking for someone who combines great organisation with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for creating brilliant in-store experiences. You'll be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and always focused on finding the best outcome for our customers and colleagues.
You'll also bring:
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels across the business.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to take ownership of tasks from start to finish and keep stakeholders informed throughout.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe Illustrator would be an advantage.
- Strong emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills. You'll work across multiple teams, often balancing different priorities, so the ability to collaborate, influence and build consensus is essential.
- A positive, proactive approach with a willingness to roll up your sleeves, solve problems and make things happen.
- A customer-first mindset, always considering how decisions and communications impact both our customers and store colleagues.
- Previous experience working with POS processes, in-store communications, visual merchandising or a similar retail environment.
- A good understanding of in-store operations, project delivery, critical paths and ways of working within a retail business.
- A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for opportunities to simplify processes, improve execution and create better outcomes.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and become a valued partner across multiple business functions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work, even when working at pace.
- A curious nature and a keen interest in retail trends, customer behaviour and the evolving in-store experience.
